Matchup
Florida State leads the overall series 17-2 all-time. Last season, Florida State handled the Terps easily in a 37-3 win. Florida State looks to earn their bowl eligibility against the Terps, who lost last weekend in a no-contest game against Virginia Tech. The Terps have yet another chance to be spoilers in terms of bowl games. If they pull out the small upset against Florida State this weekend, it could mean no extended season for the Seminoles. Maryland, however, will finish out their season next weekend against Boston College and will begin the rebuilding process.
Da'Rel Scott
After weeks on the list of injuries, Maryland running back Da'Rel Scott expects to see playing time for the first time since October 3 against Clemson (according to the Washington Post). Before the wrist injury that very well could have been one of the main reasons why Maryland's record is what it is, Da'Rel Scott had rushed for 297 yards on 55 carries and 4 touchdowns. The speedster has a chance to finish out his junior season on the field and carry that momentum into next year.
Chris Turner
The Baltimore Sun is reporting that Chris Turner (who is ailing from a MCL sprain suffered against NC State) will sit again this week against Florida State. This means that sophomore Jamarr Robinson will get his second straight start this season. Last week, Robinson rushed for an impressive 129 yards on 24 yards but only amounted for 104 yards in the air. Robinson looks to improve his completion percentage and yardage in the air against the Seminoles of Florida State.
Maryland Players from Florida
There are two players on the Maryland Terrapin's roster that hail from the pan-handle state. Senior cornerbacks Nolan Carroll and Terrell Skinner both call the state of Florida home. These two players will have the chance to get revenge against their home state.
Breaking It Down
Maryland hasn't shown in the past few weeks that they are capable of pulling out a win for the rest of the season
all the more reason to go with the Terps on Saturday. With the return of Da'Rel Scott and the potential improvement of Jamarr Robinson, look to see the Terps putting up much more of a battle against Florida State this weekend.
