TSR's Carlos Olazagasti recaps how the Terps future foes fared this weekend.

The Maryland Terrapins got a much-needed chance to regroup on Halloween weekend. Now they are left with just four games to go and here's a look at how their remaining opponents performed:

North Carolina State (Nov. 7 in Raleigh) and Florida State (Nov. 21 in Tallahassee) had a nail-biter that ended in favor of the Seminoles, 45-42. The Wolfpack did their work in the air as quarterback Russell Wilson was phenomenal, completing 20 of 30 passes for 349 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions. On the other side, the Seminoles were potent on the ground, combining to total 33 rushes for 278 yards and five touchdowns, the last of which was a late-game, three-yarder by Bert Reed that put Florida State on top for good. Florida State improves to 4-4 (2-3 ACC). NC State falls to 3-5 (0-4 ACC).

Virginia Tech (Nov. 14 in College Park) welcomed North Carolina for a Thursday night meeting in Blacksburg, but the Hokies fell 20-17. Two T.J. Yates touchdown passes paved the way for North Carolina's 14-7 lead after three quarters. Virginia Tech went ahead 17-14 in the fourth quarter after a field goal by Matt Waldron and the second rushing touchdown of the evening by quarterback Tyrod Taylor. But UNC kicker Casey Barth made a field goal with 2:52 remaining, and then another as time expired to give the Tar Heels the win. Virginia Tech falls to 5-3 (3-2 ACC).

Florida State (Nov. 21 in Tallahassee): See North Carolina State.

Boston College (Nov. 28 in College Park) had its way with visiting, non-conference Central Michigan, winning 31-10. BC halfback Montel Harris notched 136 yards and two touchdowns on the ground and wide receiver Rich Gunnell caught eight passes for 134 yards and one touchdown. The Eagles defense forced two turnovers, including a pick-six by Luke Kuechly in the fourth quarter. Boston College improves to 6-3 overall and remains 3-2 in the ACC.
