FIRST QUARTER
SUMMARY: Within the first five minutes, the Demon Deacons and Terrapins swapped touchdowns, with returner Torrey Smith setting up Maryland's score thanks to an 85-yard kickoff return. But the rest of the quarter was dominated by a Wake Forest offense that gained more than 200 yards and scored two more touchdowns, including a 10-yard toss from quarterback Riley Skinner to receiver Marshall Williams, who had four catches in the quarter, on the last play.

SECOND QUARTER
SUMMARY: Wake Forest's early momentum carried well into the second quarter. Maryland actually moved backwards on its first possession, and Wake Forest answered with a 6-play, 57-yard touchdown drive. Maryland's Nick Ferrara drilled a 50-yard field goal, the only highlight of the quarter for his team, while Skinner threw his third touchdown pass on the next drive, giving Wake Forest a seemingly insurmountable halftime lead.
KEY PLAY: Skinner's second touchdown of the quarter, a 20-yard strike to receiver Andrew Parker with less than five minutes to play, gave Wake Forest a 25-point lead.
KEY PLAYER: Skinner was on fire in front of the home crowd, going 5-for-7 with 116 yards and two touchdowns.
KEY STAT: Maryland was outgained 381-74 in the first half.

THIRD QUARTER
SUMMARY: Despite having a 25-point lead, Wake Forest stuck to its game plan, running 10 passing plays and just five rushing plays in the quarter. Maryland pieced together a 9-play, 77-yard touchdown drive that was immediately answered by an 8-play, 69-yard touchdown drive on Wake Forest's end. The two touchdowns canceled out and kept Wake Forest's healthy lead intact going into the final quarter.
KEY PLAY: With 4:46 remaining, Skinner threw a 27-yard touchdown to receiver Chris Givens, keeping the game out of reach.
KEY PLAYER: Skinner went 6-for-10 with 96 yards and a touchdown to keep Wake Forest well ahead.
KEY STAT: Through three quarters, Skinner, the ACC Player of the Week last week, went 20-for-27 with four touchdowns and more than 300 yards.

FOURTH QUARTER
SUMMARY: With the game seemingly out of reach, Maryland slapped together a couple scoring drives to even the scoreboard a bit. Quarterback Chris Turner threw a 15-yard touchdown to receiver Adrian Cannon and 4-yard touchdown to receiver Torrey Smith to cut the final deficit to 10. Turner did not have a mistake-free quarter, though, throwing an interception and cutting short a Maryland drive that was painfully close to another score. In the end, Maryland dropped to 2-4 with a 42-32 loss.
KEY PLAY: Maryland's slim chances at a comeback were stalled for good when, nearing the 9-minute mark, Turner was picked off by cornerback Dominique Tate in Wake Forest's end zone.
KEY PLAYER: Tate had a tackle and big interception that halted Maryland's late surge.
KEY STAT: Maryland's defense allowed 261.5 yards per game in its previous two games but gave up 516 to Wake Forest, the most allowed by Maryland since its 52-13 blowout loss to California in its first game.
