2010 Prospect Harold Williams expects the recruiting process to pick up after strong summer.

Hereford defensive end Harold “Willie” Williams has been under the radar up until now, but that all may change soon.

After being named to the Maryland Crab Bowl Super Sixty, Williams expects his recruitment to pick up and rightfully so. As of right now the schools he is most interested in are James Madison, Maryland, and Virginia. He says he also might make a visit to Old Dominion at some point during the season.

“At James Madison it’s very real there and the people are real down to Earth,” Williams said. “(At Maryland) they are real nice, even when we went out to eat. It also wasn’t too big.”

Last season he had 21 tackles, six tackles, and two forced fumbles. He also got some time at running back to the tune of 47 carries, 467 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

He anticipates announcing his decision after his season, but before the Maryland Crab Bowl on December 19th. Ultimately it will just depend on when he finds that perfect fit though.

“I want some place where I can fit in and play in my first two years,” he said.

As appeared to be the case with most of the combine’s participants, he is primarily interesting in bettering his speed this summer. He says he is doing that by running hills every day, in addition to sprinting and jogging.

With two-a-days already under way and the season fast approaching, Williams has one game he is really looking forward to.

“Eastern Tech,” he said about the game he is looking forward to. “We lost to them my freshman year and it’s always just a crazy game atmosphere. The stands are always overcrowded on both sides and it’s just wild.”
