Former Maryland football star Charlie Wysocki endured a long battle with mental illness but with the help of the Maryland football community he is back on his feet. Former Maryland standouts Eric Sievers and Jonathan Claiborne reflect on Charlie's days in College Park and more...

Former Maryland running back Charlie Wysocki was the star of Maryland's football team from 1978-1981, breaking nearly every rushing record in the book.

However, Wysocki fought the toughest battle of his life off the field and it stripped him of nearly everything he had. With the help of the Maryland football community and a strong support system, Wysocki is back on the right path.

On Thursday, June 20, Dr. Mark Sobel, Dave Daddio and Dave Pacella held a fundraiser event to help Wysocki regain some of what he lost over the years.

Many former Maryland football players came out for the event to support one of their own. TurtleSportsReport.com spoke to former Maryland tight end Eric Sievers and former cornerback Jonathan Claiborne about their fondest memories of Charlie on the field.
