Cohen Talks Terps Commitment

McDonogh High (Owings Mills, Md.) offensive lineman Jared Cohen breaks down why he committed to Maryland.

When Maryland offered McDonogh High (Owings Mills, Md.) offensive lineman Jared Cohen, he saw no reason to look elsewhere.

So, the 6-foot-4, 290-pounder became the first member of the Terps' 2014 class. He committed Monday night.

"Maryland was just the obvious choice in my mind," Cohen said. "I didn't want to go far, they're going into the big 10, it's a great academic school, and I hear nothing but good things from players and coaches."

Cohen was offered by the Terps last month. He met with the coaching staff, toured the campus and got a very good feel for the campus during Saturday's junior day.

"I really liked all of the coaches when I went to their junior day on Saturday and got a very good feeling about the school," Cohen said. "That's why I decided to commit."
