2014 Corner Getting Plenty of Attention

2014 has an offer from Maryland and talks about his visit during a camp last summer

Delvon Randall, a defensive back in the class of 2014, says he has received a lot of attention from West Virginia, Penn State, Virginia Tech, and Maryland.

Randall attended a Maryland camp this past summer and he says, “I liked the campus and I met a coach who was good.” Since the camp, Randall has received frequent mail from Maryland.

The defensive back also says that he likes Maryland's academic reputation, which is one of his top priorities, and he adds, “I've liked Maryland since I was little.”

Randall plays at Gateway High in Pennsylvania. This past season, Gateway went 9-2, and Randall started at receiver and corner. On offense, he accumulated 307 yards and four touchdowns, and on defense he recorded 30 tackles and had one sack and one interception.

The 6'0” 174 lb. athlete describes himself as a “smart, physical football player.” He attributes his success to his work ethic, “At practice I work extra hard so when it comes to the game it feels easy.”

Randall feels that he improved a lot during his junior season. He says his biggest areas of improvement were on the defensive side of the ball, where he says he developed a better jumping technique and tighter press coverage.

In a college, Randall is looking for a place with good academics that can enable him to succeed in the future. His one offer is from Toledo, but the junior believes he will be receiving plenty more in the future.

When it comes to his decision, Randall says he is still wide open, but he notes that he is really starting to like West Virginia, and says he has visited there multiple times, but remains interested in Maryland.
