WR Breaking Records

WR Deon Long

One of the most prolific JuCo wide receivers in the country has his eye on the national title. Deon Long is currently committed to Maryland and will play for the national title on December 2nd.

Deon Long is a 6'1 195-pound wide receiver from Iowa Western and spoke to Scout.com for the latest.

"I've broken every school record for a receiver including most touchdowns in a game, most yards in a game and yards in a season. I've broken the national record for touchdowns I haw 26 record was 22. I have 88 catches , 1,510 yards and I'm 135 yards away from breaking the national record for yards in a season and I'm 11 catches away from breaking the national catches in a season record. My team is 11-0 and number one in the nation. We play for the national championship December 2nd. I need to work on my blocking more and eating healthy just doing things the right way. I speak to the whole coaching staff at Maryland the most. I talk to coach Locks and Coach Edsall and Coach Hull the Most. I just took my visit to Maryland from the 15th- 18th no upcoming visits scheduled. I'm a Terp however Mississippi State offered, Florida offered, Oregon and more."

Long is set to graduate in December and he will have three years to play two following the 2012 football season.
