2013 Running Back has Maryland in Top 5

Imhotep senior running back Eerin Young has Terps in Top 5.

Running Back Eerin Young from Imhotep Charter in Philadelphia, PA lists Maryland in his top 5, alongside Syracuse, Temple, UMass, and Iowa.

The 5'9 160 lb. running back describes his interest in the Terps as an “eight or nine” on a scale from one to ten. Young notes that Maryland has a good location, “It's not too far away from home, but it's far enough that I can get away and see different things.”

A Maryland coach came to his school once, says Young, but beyond that he says he has not had much contact with the Terp's coaching staff.

Young was in attendance when Maryland defeated Temple in Philadelphia on Septermber 8th. He describes it as a great experience, and he said it was an exciting game to watch.

Imhotep is 10-0 on the season in large part due to Young's impressive numbers. On the ground, he has 927 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns, and he has added 337yards and four touchdowns receiving.

Young describes himself as a “multi-type player” who can run the ball, catch passes, and return kicks. He also says he is “hard-working and dedicated.” Young says his one weakness is that he is quiet, and he wants to work on becoming a more vocal leader.

During the offseason, Young worked on getting in the weight room and “putting on weight,” as well as his stamina and endurance.

Young compares himself to Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy, noting that they are both quick running backs that can make moves and catch passes.

In a college, Young is looking for somewhere where he will have a good college experience and feel comfortable on the campus. He is also concerned with, “how good the team is.”

Young plans on making his decision after his football season is over, once he has received offers and has time to take visits.
