Meet the Terps Defense: #5 Undray Clark
Player: Undray Clark Hometown: Miami, Fla. Class: Redshirt Freshman Height & Weight: 5-foot-10, 190 pounds Projected Position on Depth Chart: Backup free safety The rundown: Clark has a lot of speed and can keep up with faster wide receivers. He served a redshirt season last year and was named scout team player of the week twice, once as a defender in the week before the game against Temple and once on special teams the week before the game against Notre Dame. As a senior at Felix Varela High, he helped his team to the 6A playoffs and finished the season with 72 tackles and five interceptions, returning two of them for touchdowns. He also had two kickoff returns for touchdowns. Expectations for 2012: Senior Eric Franklin will be the undisputed starter going into the regular season, but the Terps' coaching staff have high hopes for Clark. Clark is listed as the backup for Franklin at free safety and it looks as it will stay that way until the season opener. Clark is shorter than the rest of the safeties but his speed will be an advantage for him. He will get his chance to play this season and will need to use his backup playing time to prove to coaches he can take on the starter's role in 2013.
