Meet the Terps Offense: #34 Joe Riddle

College Park, MD. - TSR gets you acclimated with the 2012 Terps, first looking at the offense.

Player: Joe Riddle

Hometown: Frederick, Md.

Class: Freshman

Height & Weight: 6-foot-0, 195 pounds

Projected Position on Depth Chart: Backup running back

The rundown: Riddle was a two-star prospect last year by Scout.com and is hoping to make the cut for next season's roster. Riddle is one of four freshmen running backs that the team is carrying this season. At Linganore High, Riddle also ran track and field. In his senior season, he had 917 yards rushing and nine touchdowns and 46 yards receiving and another touchdown through the air in seven games. Riddle also saw playing time as a returner on special teams.

Expectations for 2012: Riddle will have a hard time seeing the field this next season and will most likely end up redshirting and playing on the scout team. Justus Pickett, Brandon Ross and Wes Brown will most likely split the carries, leaving Riddle, Albert Reid and Kwabena Ofori watching from the sidelines next season. Riddle may eventually get playing time in the future, but for next season, he will not get a touch during the regular season barring a string of injuries to the other running backs.
