Meeting the Terps Offense: #15 Ryan Doyle

Meeting the Terps Offense: #15 Ryan Doyle

College Park, MD. - TSR gets you acclimated with the 2012 Terps, first looking at the offense.

Player: Ryan Doyle

Hometown: Wake Forest, N.C.

Class: Redshirt Freshman

Height & Weight: 6-foot-4, 295 pounds

Projected Position on Depth Chart: Backup tackle

The rundown: Doyle redshirted the 2011 season after being recruited out of Wake Forest Rolesville High. In high school, Doyle helped lead his team to the Class 4A State Championship game. Doyle is an athletic lineman with good size and excels at run-blocking and opening up holes.

Expectations for 2012: Doyle's lack of experience is worrisome for an offensive line that lost both starting tackles from last season in Max Garcia and R.J. Dill. Nick Klemm is listed as the starter at left tackle for the preseason, but highly recruited freshman Mike Madaras from Our Lady of Good Counsel could make a push for the starting job over Klemm and Doyle. Doyle should see some action next season, but don't expect him to be a familiar face at the left tackle position.
