Vellano and Dorsey Head to ACC Media Day

Fifth-year seniors Joe Vellano and Kevin Dorsey head to the ACC Media Day starting tomorrow.

Wide Receiver Kevin Dorsey and defensive lineman Joe Vellano will represent the University of Maryland July 22-23 at the 2012 ACC Football Kickoff.

Both players have already graduated from the University of Maryland but have decided to come back for the 2012 season. In 2011, Dorsey was the Terps No. 1 receiver and is expected to claim that role again in 2012. He led the Terps in receptions (45), receiving yards (573), receiving TD's (3) and yards per catch (12.7)

So far in his career, Dorsey has caught 63 passes for a total of 777 yards and five touchdowns.

Fifth-year senior Joe Vellano is on numerous watch lists and is a first team All-American pick by Athlon. In 2011 he was an All-American and a consensus first team All-ACC choice. He started all 12 games for the Terps and led all FBS lineman in tackles with 7.8 per game.

This will be Vellano's third season starting on the defensive line.

Check back with TSR for interviews with both players as well as head coach Randy Edsall. Recommended Stories
