Wide Receiver to Leave Football Program

Coxson will not return to the Maryland football program in 2012.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Wide receiver Adrian Coxson has decided not to return to the football team in 2012, head coach Randy Edsall announced Wednesday.

Coxson, a redshirt freshman, will be granted his release and indicated he will transfer to another institution at the end of this semester.

“We appreciate everything that Adrian has done for us and hope everything works out for him in his future endeavors,” Edsall said.

Coxson, who transferred from Florida prior to the 2010 season, played in nine games in this past year, all as a reserve wideout and special-teams performer. He posted four receptions for 90 yards with one touchdown.
