De'Shawn Dowdy, a versatile athlete out of Akron (OH) North High School made it official on Thanksgiving Day, committing to Maryland.
Maryland It Is," Dowdy proclaimed on his Facebook page. He wasted little time posted a picture of himself sporting a Maryland cap.
Dowdy was a versatile athlete at North during his career. In his senior year alone, he lined up at quarterback, running back and at receiver. He is projected to be a linebacker in college, possibly even a defensive end for the Terps.
Dowdy took an official visit to Maryland on October 29 for the Boston College game. He had also taken a visit to Iowa State earlier in the season. He chose the Terps over the Cyclones--who beat No. 2 Oklahoma State this past weekend--as well as a host of other offers.
Stay tuned for more on Dowdy's commitment to Maryland.
